In the early 1960's during the time my Uncle the late James DeMile trained with Bruce Lee. He and Bruce spent time at the University of Washington Physiology Dept. It was then that Bruce was introduced to how a basic, yet effective bio tracking technology could measure the combative impact of speed and its intrinsic relationship to explosive power in both human action and reaction in a fighting application.

It was during this special moment in martial arts history that not only was the awesome display of what was Bruce's phenomenal speed could be measured, but how this technology would be applied into Bruces and then James training programs in the years to follow.

Later after Bruce died, James DeMile developed a portfolio of analog action and reaction timers that measures simulated single attacker and multiple attacker situations  providing immediate feedback to the trainer on their speed performance and whether it could effectively stop or effectively strike an attacker with explosive power.

In the late seventies under my Uncles tutalage, I started training with his timers on my journey to becoming a Wing Chun Do Blackbelt. Years later after working in the field of telecommunication and network technologies I developed a wireless design inspired by my Uncles analog timers. At DeMile Martial Arts we leverage this patent pending application that helps students stay accountable to their self-defense and fitness goals with weekly tracking of their performance.
